Die Leica Camera AG stellt das neueste Firmware Update für die Leica SL2 zur Verfügung. Neben kleineren Verbesserungen in der grafischen Darstellung des Video Menüs, einer komfortableren Steuerung der AF-Feld Größe und einer neuen Benennung von SD-Karten nach der kamerainternen Formatierung, sticht besonders der jetzt verfügbare Multishot Modus heraus. Mit Hilfe der in der SL2 verwendeten Sensor Shift Technologie erzeugt die Kamera im Multishot Modus neben einem 47 Megapixel Bild ein weiteres Bild mit rund 187 Megapixeln. Hierfür nimmt die Kamera bis zu acht aufeinander folgende Bilder auf, wobei der Sensor zwischen jeder Aufnahme in Schritten von einem halben Pixel verschoben wird. Das Ergebnis ist eine extreme Steigerung der Detailauflösung der ausgegebenen DNG Daten, die insbesondere bei Aufnahmen vom Stativ zur Geltung kommt.
